Community involvement
Over the last few years SMART 202 has strived to become more active in our community by showing support though donations, as well as participation at various events. TOYS FOR TOTS
SMART-202 has been very proud to be involved with the Toys for Tots Organization for the 3rd year in a row as of December 2024. You can read about Toys For Tots here: Marine Corps Toys for Tots This organization should inspire everyone. A foundation dedicated to helping children, and to be founded by our United State Marine Corps is an amazing charity to be a part of and support. SMART 202 has contributed a monetary donation every year and more and more toys. We are all looking forward to donating even more in 2025.
STAMP OUT HUNGER
STAMP OUT HUNGER~
All unions need to help one another and support each other. One way that SMART-202 is able to support a fellow union is through the National Association of Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Our union hall is located just a few blocks from the SunnySide Post Office and over the past couple of years SMART-202 has contributed cans, dried goods and monetary donations to the Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Our members have also volunteered their time by helping organize the donations and loading them into vans for the food bank. Our donations directly benefit the Bienvenidos Food Bank, which is less than 3 minutes away from our union Hall and literally just down the street from us.
